ATC Problems: What To Do & Who To Complain To

Believe it or not, if you've been manhandled by the system the FAA wants to know about it.   You will need the following information:

For problems with the Potomac Tracon:

To make a formal complaint, call Dawn Ramirez in Quality Assurance at 540-349-7548 or click here to send her an email. She will review all available data and get back to you and she or someone else in her department will get back to you and let you know what they found.  They will also initiate any appropriate remedial action.  Please note that she sometimes works odd hours, so it may be a few days before you hear back.

If you'd rather just vent immediately, ask questions or try to get something clarified, you can also speak with the Operations Supervisor on duty at 540-349-7541.

For Problems with DCA Tower:

Call 703-419-1541 and follow the prompts for the tower supervisor.

For Problems with Leesburg FSS:

Call 703-779-4606, which is the supervisor's desk.

Editorial Comment:
This IS NOT a waste of time.  In the course of operating traffic planes deep in the FRZ, we've had our share of controller problems.  I have been very pleased at the responses and help we've received, particularly from the Tracon.  This isn't something that singles you out for a rough time from the controller next time you fly; it's a genuine attempt at a solution.

If you'd rather not "get involved" you can certainly give us the information and we'll run it down, but there's REALLY nothing to worry about.
