FRZ Procedures

FRZ flight plans, both IFR and VFR, must be filed with FAA Flight Data at 703-771-3476. This MUST be done via telephone to this phone # ONLY, and you’ll be asked for you PIN.

This includes all flights originating or terminating at a MD3 airport, any flights operating under a waiver within the FRZ, and GA traffic to and from DCA under the DASSP program. This number is ONLY for filing flight plans - they will not have NOTAM or weather information.

VFR-only flights desiring flight following or a search & rescue flight plan will have to file separately through the conventional AFSS system. The prohibition on filing these flight plans (SAR/Flight Following) online has been removed - HOWEVER whether you can do it or not is going to depend on the vendor you use. Some are set up for it and some are not.
